Audrey L. Sanislo

A lawyer who provides practical, cost-effective service in the areas of contracts,
employment law counseling, training, investigations and human resources.

Having previously worked at a top law firm in the area and graduating from law school at the top of my class, I offer excellent credentials. However, by working for myself, I have the flexibility to provide a great alternative to the traditional law firm.

Here’s how I provide great service:

Practical legal advice.
I pride myself on legal work that is user-friendly. If I talk with you on the phone or send written legal work, you should know how to proceed. Similarly, if you ask me for a recommendation, I will provide one. I don’t believe in just saying, “on the one hand. . .

Specific practice areas
Many firms try to be everything to everyone. I only provide legal advice in the areas where I excel and have strong experience. I currently offer legal advice in employment law and contracts.

Lower price. I have low overhead -- no mahogany, fresh flowers, or fancy views. I work from a home office equipped with computers, high-speed internet, and research materials.  Because of the low overhead and my appreciation for being able to balance work with family, I charge less. My billing rate is often half as much (less in comparison to senior partners) as a lawyer at a big firm with comparable or even less experience.

Option of project billing.
I offer you the choice of project or hourly billing. Many companies need to know the cost of legal work up front – to budget and to determine whether the value of the work exceeds the fees. Law firms have been reluctant to bill by the project and don’t often provide estimates. If you choose project billing, I will bill you the amount quoted for the agreed upon scope of work.

Range of services. In addition to offering employment law services, I advise on human resources matters using my experience as a human resources manager. So, if you are not certain whether you need human resources assistance, employment law advice, or both, don’t worry. When the work is human resources, not true legal work, I bill at a lower rate which treats you fairly and makes more projects affordable.

No nickel and diming. I don’t surprise you with extra charges. Firms often charge for long distance charges and often charge high rates for photocopies. I don’t charge for long distance calls within the continental United States. When I do charge for auxiliary services, I bill you at the actual cost incurred, without any mark-up.

Personal Services and continuity. With law firms, your contact is often not the lawyer who actually performs your work. Your goals and needs may be passed along to several other attorneys akin to the old game of telephone. In contrast, you will deal directly with me and I will do your work. Many of my clients would tell you that in addition to my high standards of maintaining paper and electronic documents, I have a good memory that enables me to quickly pick up what your needs are now and how they may be impacted by issues or work that I have previously handled.
